Poster Presentation

Poster Presentation Guidelines
  • Presentations should be based on original completed research which has not been previously published in a peer-reviewed journal.
  • The poster board surface area is 44 inches (112 cm) high and 46 inches (117 cm) wide. Please do not write or draw on the poster boards. Each poster board will be marked with your corresponding abstract number (meeting registration number).
  • On the top of the poster, prepare a strip that runs the full width of the poster. USING UPPERCASE LETTERING, INCLUDE THE ABSTRACT NUMBER, TITLE, AUTHORS AND AFFILIATIONS.
  • It is recommended to include separate sections for Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results, Conclusions, and Literature Cited.
  • It is also recommended to present the poster vertically, in columns.
  • Presenters must furnish their own tacks or stickpins.
  • Minimize the use of abbreviations, acronyms and jargon. Thoroughly explain any abbreviations or acronyms that are used in the poster.
  • Use large type for viewing from four feet. Examples:
    • At least 16 point for Text.
    • At least 24 point for Authors, Affiliations and Headings.
    • At least 72 point for Titles.
  • Poster text, figures and tables should also be readable to viewers from four feet away.
  • Abstracts scheduled for presentation will be provided to attendees in addition to the Symposium program.
  • The use of handouts, such as photo-reduced versions of the poster and/or relevant literature is encouraged.
